Words of Wisdom - Comparison

Comparison - a double edged sword! Comparing yourself to others or their art can both motivate us to do better, try harder, push ourselves, or it can darken, embitter, crush and hold us back - it's all in how you look at it (like much everything else in this life!). Have you ever created something you were so thrilled with, then gone to share it online only to pause over the 'post' button, or made something and thrown it out... Read more →

Words of Wisdom - Fear

Never let fear, stop you from doing something amazing! It might surprise you to find out I'm not a particularly confident person, really I'm a scaredy cat! Well me being me I typed some of my qualities into Google and matched them with a Greek Goddess known for similar qualities - turns out I'm most like Demeter - Goddess of... Read more →

Not a 'real artist'

OK like many others out there I have a tiny little complex about my own art-work! I've never taken a formal art lesson, didn't get to take art as a subject in High School, know nothing about painting, lighting, shading, shadow, art theory and if you held a gun to my head and insisted I draw a realistic looking horse from memory you'd be lucky to recognise the finished object. For some reason these things for me are inextricably linked... Read more →
