Bloom Journal page

Magicals - Journal Page I was completely chuffed when Tracey (the owner of Lindy's Stamp Gang) asked each of the Design Team members to create some projects for display at CHA 2012 Winter. I've been playing with Zentangling lately so thought I'd combine my Magicals (fabulous powder paints) with some tangle inspired designs and came up with this - it's totally different from anything else LSG had on display, but I don't think that's a bad thing. What I used:... Read more →

Special Delivery using Present Fairy from Miranda's Card Creations!

You know how some projects just sort of come together without lot of fiddling - well this was one of them. I generously received this image via Paper Creations Ink Challenge Blog, provided for use by the fabulous Miranda van den Bosch and after I created the Magical Mica background - all the rest sort of fell in to place. The background led to the Copic colours in the image, I used the same colours on the flowers as I... Read more →

Kate's Copic Journal Cover

This is my project for the Lovin' Lindy Blog Hop - I love the way this turned out, it really is one of my favourite projects EVER! I think what helps to make it so special for me is that I've incorporated part of my heart into this one, the images of the beautiful little boy, the soldier and the steampunk man - are all images of my much loved Grandpa, Les Swaby. He's been gone for a while now,... Read more →

Magical Watercolour Bunny: Watercolouring with Magical Micas

Ooooh this turns out so PRETTY - you're going to LOVE this way of using your Magicals! I've posted things I've coloured with the Magicals (aka Magical Micas) before, but these pieces used strong colours and were bright and popping, this little guy (Chester from Whipper Snapper designs) is soft and cuddly, so I wanted the colouring to be that way as well. To achieve this I used a technique a lot like watercolouring to colour my rabbit. I'll explain... Read more →

Haunted Halloween Card with Magical Masked Background

I loved the colours in the Haunted Halloween Magical set so much, I had make more than one card! This project sort of grew around the central image from The Greeting Farm, once I'd coloured the Anya image in, I created the rest of the card to match all with mostly the same products. I'm going to try something new with post, rather than directions for the WHOLE card, I'm just giving them for the main or Unique technique -... Read more →

Materials: Household Bleach Coloured card Water-barrel Brush Embossing powder Rubber Stamp - bold design Versamark Watermark Ink pad Procedure: Bleach stamping Bleach stamping results in an effect similar to resist but a lot less precise (or it is the way I do it!).
