Bird Art Journal Page using Negative Space

Today I'm creating a page with Masks. If you saw my last post you'll know that this month I'm playing with Masks and Stencils, and throwing in a few Magical Powder Paints for a little touch of sparkle! I can't wait to show you how I've created my own blue wren mask and then used this as negative space in my art to create a simple, but eye-catching art journal page. Gathered together some favourite supplies: I used my journal,... Read more →

Playing With the New Magical Shakers from Lindys

Sparkly hello!!! This week I've had my first look and spent time playing with the new Magical Shakers from Lindy's, released at Creativation 2017 (CHA). There are 10 new colours, and they are a fabulous rainbow of yumminess! Now they are the same formula as normal Magicals (which are a powdered watercolor dye), so you can do all the same things you would normally do, but they are in a fancy new bottle making them easier to use and a... How To Re-Colour Paper Flowers to Make them Glossy & Gorgeous

Just a quick little clip today, I thought I'd share how I change the colour of paper flowers that aren't quite right for the project I want to use them on. This technique is wonderful, as not only is the colour coverage excellent but it also makes the flower more durable - so it's great for projects that may get a bit of wear! Now there isn't a whole lot to this technique so I won't fuss about creating photo... Read more →

Mixed Media Journal Page Inspired by Jamie Dougherty

Mmmmm June's Colour Challenge colours are from the Grease themed Beauty School Dropout set from Lindy's Stamp Gang, and they are pretty and fun - so what did I do - I watered them down and used them to add extremely subtle colour to a journal page! I have to say - I tried a new way of using my Magical powders and I am in love all over again. You can grab this gorgeous special edition set and matching... Read more →

Magical Heidi Swapp Journal Makeover

It's time - time for a little makeover! I picked up a really cute little canvas journal/book cover on sale, gold with white stripes - white and I don't mix all that well, so I decided to give it a little 'Sparkle Tart' treatment and make it over using Magicals from Lindy's Stamp Gang! Yes Magicals on fabric - a match made in heaven. Now what colour to use, it's summer here in Queensland (Australia) so I'm seeing lots of... Read more →

DIY Watercolour Washi with Lindy's Stamp Gang

Hello from sunny Queensland! I've recently been bitten by the Washi Bug (no settle down Mum this has nothing to do with laundry!) and have started collecting a few rolls. First thing that struck me though, is that I was going to pretty much need one of every colour if I was going to be able to use it in my very colourful and usually never-the-same-colours-twice projects. Dilemma - because in March (I hope) we will be moving into our... Read more →

Watercolored Autumn Leaf Journal Page

It's time! Time for another Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge! This month's palette is so completely Autumn colours - reds, oranges, yellows and green. The only thing I could think of when I saw this was 'maple leaves'. While we don't have maple trees where I live in the tropics, or Autumn for that matter (it's green here pretty much all year round!) - I do love the changing colours on the leaves when I visit anywhere with a cold... Scrapbook Layout: Simple Page using Neon Graffiti

Today I'm playing with a clean and simple scrapbooking layout using Limor Webber's new Neon Graffiti set of Flat Fabios from Lindy's Stamp Gang. Now these neon's are bright, and I mean REALLY bright - the colours are luscious, intense and bold. My first impulse when I received the new colours was to use them the same way I normally do (ie spray it everywhere!) - I quickly found out that when dealing with NEON colours, that less is more!... Wild Abstract Pink and Blue Doodled Page

It's time for another Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge and this month the palette is bright beachy colours! For a change I used all of the colours picked for this month: Delphinium Turquoise, (you could substitute Hydrangea Blue) Frenchy's Pink Pouf, Ocean Breeze Blue, Clam Bake Beige and Steel Shimmer (as I didn't have Silent Night Silver!) The colour combination made for a bright and happy result. What I did: Begin by drawing a doodle using waterproof markers, I used... Read more →

Scenic Layer Card - C.A.S.

Today I'm going to show you a simple but stunning technique using Magicals from Lindy's Stamp Gang. This process proved so simple, stress-free and downright gorgeous that I'm thinking of using this technique for my Christmas cards - though it could be adapted for any occasion. You won't need many supplies to make this, but is is important to use a smooth watercolour card, a good self-adhesive stencil and a highly pigmented watercolour (you know Magicals are my favourite variety!).... Mail Art Made Easy with Magicals

Today I was inspired to play with matching envelopes and cards and thought I'd try something simple with my Magicals from Lindy's Stamp Gang. I have to admit that I don't send as many cards or decorated envelopes as I used to - so when I do send something I like to try and make it look a little special and let the recipient know I'm thinking of them - my version of sending a big hug through the mail....
