Mini World Altas Journal Page with Catherine Pooler Inks

Oooh girly squeal - I'm currently counting the days until our holiday and frantically working in the Traveler's Journals, art journals and planners that I'm taking with me to Canada - I'm a gal who likes to be organised.  For this page, I thought I'd multi-task and create the title page for one of my journals and test out the blending and water reactive properties of my new Catherine Pooler Inks!

Now I need to be totally up front and let you know that Catherine sent me a fabulous selection of her Ink Pads and stamps to trial - with the understanding of course that I can provide an honest review (wouldn't do it otherwise).

Spoiler Alert: I LOVE THEM!!!!!

So let's get started on creating this super simple fun little page that you could so easily make as a card or one amazing background for your scrapbooking layout!  Seriously - watch the process video below or read on....

Step 1

Stamp Altenew World Map onto the middle of the journal page using Versamark Ink and cover with Clearly Clear Embossing Powder, heat to set.  Then tape Stencil Girl Pea stencil over the top so that the world map image is in the middle of a circle.

TN tape stencil to page

Step 2

Use a mini ink blending tool with a foam pad to apply the Catherine Pooler inks to the circle (Sweet Sixteen, Sugared Lavender, Royal Treatment and Juniper Mist) lightest to darkest - you can see the exact method in the video above.

TN add ink

Step 3

Flick ink with water - try to create large and small droplets - oh yum look at that gorgeous water reaction - pattern, pattern, pattern!  Blot off any extra water after a minute or so.

Step 4

Add gold shimmer spots in Pale gold from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolor paint set.

Add a circle using Copic Multi Liner 0.5, some text and plane stamps from the Going Where stamp set (using the Midnight Catherine Pooler ink pad) and some washi to complete the page.
