Watercolor, Pencil and Metallic Paint Journal Page
Wow week 3 of Lifebook did my head in, I watched the clip had a small freak out and then watched it again. Our mission was to create art representing our dual nature, dark/light, heaven/earth - NOT good and evil, but look at the qualities within us that are a contradiction.
Thankfully I listened to what Bonnie Rose was saying and gave myself permission to create the image of 'duality' that was bouncing around in my head trying to get out - boy am I ever so glad I did! My page represents duality via the use of day and night and animals (Arctic wolf and Blue Jay), explained in part with text, the animals represent the parts of my nature which are a contradiction.

Some close-ups:
Let me give credit where it's due - I saw 'Breath of Winter' and fell in love, this inspired me to create the wolfs' 'breath' on this page, I found this amazing wolf photo Arctic Wolf Howl on Deviantart and this adorable Winter Blue Jay on a bird feeding tips site it's also on a Bird Wallpaper site - so not sure where or who is responsible for the original. I learned the gesso over photo technique on 21 Secrets last year, though I did mine a little different and the rest is all me :O) I'm so excited with how this turned out, it's the first time that what was in my head actually made it to paper the way I imagined it - in fact I think it might even be better!
