Art Classes I'm taking in 2012

Oh dear, I'm so glad I'm sitting down - beginning to hyperventilate a little here - I think I may have caught the class bug and perhaps bitten off more than I can chew in 2012 - no that doesn't sound like me at all! Luckily most of these are self paced classes and I can complete them at my leisure (breathe small sigh of relief) some you can even download and complete whenever you like (feeling a bit better).... 2011 A year of creative discovery

Wow - I can't believe another year has almost come to a close. 2011 has been a big deal for me, in fact I'd say that apart from the year I 'discovered' stamping and card making - this may have been the year which has seen me creatively grow the most as an artist and a person. Thanks to some amazing people and opportunities (a few personal challenges to give me some incentive), the wonders of the internet making it... Read more →

Distressed Starburst Background using Sweet Pea Stamp

This background technique is great for making your coloured image just leap off the page - look at how this image just 'pops'. To make this work, the key is to choose colours carefully so that the image and the background colours match. This one is a combination of - 'I wonder what would happen if' and 'wow I love that stamp' the result is a somewhat vintage Christmas card with a little bit of cheeky mixed in. What I used: Distress Ink Pads: Festive Berries and Black Soot (on Santa), Walnut Stain and Brushed... Read more →

Special Delivery using Present Fairy from Miranda's Card Creations!

You know how some projects just sort of come together without lot of fiddling - well this was one of them. I generously received this image via Paper Creations Ink Challenge Blog, provided for use by the fabulous Miranda van den Bosch and after I created the Magical Mica background - all the rest sort of fell in to place. The background led to the Copic colours in the image, I used the same colours on the flowers as I... Read more →

Success, Life & Saying Thankyou!

Some judge the quality and success of their lives based on how much they have; what they accumulate; how much they own; how far up the corporate ladder they climb; what they get out of something, or what's in it for me? I choose to judge my life by what I can give, what I bring to others, what I can share and by the people who's lives I can make I difference in. Don't get me wrong, I go... Read more →
