Shabby Chic Sweet Pea Card

OK I couldn't resist any longer I just had to use this stamp and a couple of challenges gave me the push that I needed :)
So first I HAD to play with some of my new colours from Lindy's Stamp Gang (couldn't wait any longer!!!!), I wanted to combine this with the Copic Oz Challenge,  where I needed to use BV00, G82 and RV21 - I've just learned how to do some copic shadowing with the BV's so this is the perfect opportunity to try it out. I've used the fabulous layout from Creatalicious Challenges as the design inspiration, and if I'm really inventive I can also squeeze this in for the In a Sweet Pea Dream Challenge of using lace on your creation.

 What I did:

This card was suprisingly simple you can read the details below or view the quick clip I've put together explaining how it was created.

  1. Spray Fuzzy Navel Peach onto piece of A4/Letter sized white card, cover completely with spray and leave to dry.
  2. Spray My Mojito Green Starburst spray onto piece of A4/Letter sized white card, cover completely with spray, then spritz a little Creme Brulee Cream in patches over the top of the green and then leave to dry.
  3. Using Spellbinders Classic Frame die, cut frame from Fuzzy Navel Peach card.  Use leftover F.N.P. card to cut a base sheet for finished card.
  4. Using foam applicator, apply Distress inks to embossed areas of cut out frame to darken.
  5. Stamp Sweet Pea image onto XPressIt blending card using Memento ink and colour with Copics listed above.  Trim to size using Classic Frame die when finished.
  6. Apply Distress inks to white butterfly ribbon, spritz with water to distribute colour and dry with heat gun.
  7. Spritz lace with My Mojito green and leave to dry.
  8. Spritz assorted roses from Wild Orchid Crafts with Fuzzy Navel Peach and leave to dry.
  9. Stamp Judikins background stamp onto panels cut from My Mojito green card using Versamark ink and emboss with Spanish Moss Green embssing powder, adhere these to the Fuzzy Navel base card.
  10. Assemble other elements as seen in finished card, finish the cat wings and flowers with a touch of glitter.

I'd love to hear what you think about this one (this was my first try using the BV as a shadow), constructive criticism please - we are all sensitive when it comes to our art :O)  Do you think the BV as a shadow works (look at the full card, not the close up to get the effect), or is it too harsh a colour difference for you?
