Blog Colour Palette Inspiration - Vision Board

You know I started designing my new blog colours around my scruffy peeling paint brush (more here) well I wanted to be able to sort of visualise the mood and feel of my new blog design - so I created a vision board. As you can see below it's bright and fresh and feminine. I don't feel like I'm entirely 'there' with my blog development just yet - but this is the feel I'm gradually moving towards.... I do love... Mojo Kickstarter: #1 Don't Beat Yourself Up!

Today I feel like this.... Most days I'm happy and bubbly, but today my mojo is low and I'm feeling a bit blue, it could be because my hubby is sick with a cold or because it's miserable and raining outside, or because my work is undergoing 'restructuring' and things are uncertain - whatever the reason I'm feeling flat! So what do you do when your mojo is low, hiding or just plain long term absent? Well this is the... Read more →

Inspiration from a Paintbrush!

OK - so I don't treat my paintbrushes well - in fact they are thoroughly abused! I forget to wash them, I leave them sitting in water, I apply masking fluid (frisket) with some of them - in general I don't take care of them - it's why I buy the cheap ones! Well out of the ruin has risen the inspiration for my new blog colour scheme. A month ago I noticed the paint peeling off the handle on... Read more →

Words of Wisdom - Comparison

Comparison - a double edged sword! Comparing yourself to others or their art can both motivate us to do better, try harder, push ourselves, or it can darken, embitter, crush and hold us back - it's all in how you look at it (like much everything else in this life!). Have you ever created something you were so thrilled with, then gone to share it online only to pause over the 'post' button, or made something and thrown it out... Read more →

Words of Wisdom - Fear

Never let fear, stop you from doing something amazing! It might surprise you to find out I'm not a particularly confident person, really I'm a scaredy cat! I worry that my art is not worthy of sharing, that my ideas and techniques aren't interesting enough for any one to bother reading or watching, I worry about not being original enough and honestly putting myself out there - being open to ridicule, resentment, criticism and abuse is not an easy thing... 3rd Anniversary for Sparkle Tart Blog!

I've just had my 3 year Blog Anniversary - woohoo. I can't believe how things have grown and changed in such a short amount of time, the pace of things really surprises me some days. Had a ball at Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo

Some of you may have seen me at the Brisbane Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo over the long weekend - I was demonstrating my fingers off over at stand 83 - Passion 4 Paper.
