Wow - I can't believe I forgot to post this lol - i got a copy of the magazines before they hit the regular shelves and didn't want to post prematurely and in holding back I completely forgot to post, apparently that's what happens when you're busy!
My new year's resolution was that my art is 'good enough' and not to be such a chicken and just send in a few things for consideration for publication. At the time I'd been making a few ATC's so this is what I sent in and out of the 9 I sent - 7 were published - sooooooo exciting to see your art in a magazine. My only gripe is by the time they made it to the photographer I noticed a couple of the embellishments had come off, s0 some of the ATC's are a little 'naked' to my eye. Anyhow without further ado, here are my published Artist Trading Cards, not all cards on each page are mine - just those with close up features.....
Vol 17 No 4 2011 Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft
Vol 17 No 5 ANNUAL 2011 Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft
Vol 17 No 6 2011 Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft
Of all of these I have 3 favourites, the maroon ATC with the vintage wedding couple - this uses a photo of my Grandparents, both have been gone for a few years now - so looking at this brings our many happy days spent together right back to me. The 'Blue' ATC was one of my most sucessful attempts at creating a scene on a small scale, I got my masking spot on so it all looks like the one stamp - also love the stamps from Cherry Pie used on that. Lucky last is the ATC with the vintage ladies at the beach - created with very watered down Starbursts - in person the colours glow - I love how it looks (will see if I can post clip on YouTube so you can see how it looks too).
If interested you can see more of my Artist Trading Cards here in my gallery.
So I thought I'd share this - there is no reason for you all not to be brave and submit as well. Honestly I thought maybe 1 or 2 might make it through for publication - but this proves you can never tell!
May your day Sparkle!
