I took one look at this month's Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge and knew exactly what I was going to create! Does that happen to you sometimes?
Without being conscious of it, I've been thinking about something like this for a while - it's funky, it's abstract and depending on your colour choices it could be a perfect masculine Birthday or Father's Day card! If you don't have the wire you could substitute with string or twine - the important bits are the pops of colour against that stark black background.
The color palette for this month looks like this... I've chosen to use the teal, copper and gold.
- Lindy's Stamp Gang:
- Starbursts: Wake Me Up Before You Go Gold, Time Travel Teal and Cowabunga Copper
- Embossing Powder: Caesar's Gold
- Mica Powders: Jupiter Blue Green, Venus Violet Blue and Prospector Platinum
- Viva Pearl Pen - Black
- Archival Ink Pad - Pearlescent Chocolate
- The Paper Temptress: Antique Gold, Heavenly White 100 and Eclipse Black 100
- Stamp from Stampin' Up
- Gold Wire
- Glossy Accents
- Circle punches in variety of sizes
To create this:
Using circle punches cut a variety of circles from Heavenly White card.
Spray circles with Time Travel Teal and Cowabunga Copper Starburst sprays and leave to dry.
Ink bold stamp with Versamark ink and stamp over coloured circles, sprinkle with Caesar's Gold embossing powder and set with a heat gun. Stamp random shapes over coloured circles using Brilliance ink in Pearlescent Chocolate .
Coat 1/3 of the coloured circles with Glossy Accents and allow to dry.
Splatter black card with Wake Me Up Before You Go Gold and leave to dry. Use double sided foam tape to stick the coloured circles onto the card and to hold the gold wire in place.
Put all of this together and you have a funky slightly cosmic and abstract looking card that would be a fabulous masculine card with a nice flow.
What are your favourite masculine cards - please post to Facebook Group K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Sparkly).
