I've been sitting at home after my operation thinking about the new year, my blog, art, sharing and keeping things interesting for me and for all of you. I have my Blogoversary coming up in 21 days - at that point this blog will have been in operational for 2 years, in that time I have had 78 211 unique hits and as of today, a current total of 4123 followers across all social media. Honestly I'm totally gobsmacked and chuffed that so many people out there think enough of my art and ideas to be interested in what I have to say. So a massive thank you to you all, being able to share with you is an important part of my life and I enjoy every minute of it. I've had loads of time to think in the last 7 weeks while stuck in a reclining chair, unable to do much and have come to a few conclusions:
- I really NEED to be able to sit at my craft desk and do something - anything - on a regular basis to be happy. I can't believe how much I miss being able to just potter and play!
- I tend to only share things as they are finished and as I have time to share a full post, you also only ever see the items that have turned out as I wanted them too and I only share tutorials on my blog when the YouTube clip is also ready (and man when you're a fussy editor these can really take some time to compile!). I had a few people comment that last year I hadn't done as much art wise, truth be told I have completed heaps of projects and been massively busy and because of that, hadn't had as much time to post things. So this will also change, I will include photos as I complete things, plus the finished tutorials that you all love. I will take you all with me on my creative journey even be brave and show you some of my less than perfect pieces and what I do with them :O)
- In an effort to keep this blog 'all about the art' I have neglected sharing some very important parts of my life, no don't worry I'm not going to start posting a bunch or personal stuff, what I mean is the 2 things other than creating that I do on a weekly if not daily basis - learning and organising.
So I will be introducing two new posts, sharing more of the things that inspire me - ideas, blogs, people, colours, images on a regular basis in a segment called 'Fan Friday'
and tips & ideas for organising your supplies and craft space in posts titled 'Move it Monday'.
I hope that you will find these extra posts as interesting as I do
So not only will I be sharing a few extra things close to my heart, but you will all be getting more art, more inspiration and I hope a few good ideas you can all use in your own art and homes.
